New baby making it hard to stick to your fitness routine? Here are seven tips to keep you motivated even if you can't get to the gym because the bambino has you tied down! Remember that something is better than nothing, even just ten minutes a couple times per day.
1.Get up bright and early when the baby is up; feed the baby, then grab the stroller and go for a 30 minute power walk before the demands of the day catch up with you.
2. Go to a local high school track with the baby and stroller. Station the baby on the filed and run a series of 100m sprints resting, and checking the little one in between sprints. This is a quick and effective workout.
3. Find a friend to walk with you and the baby in the morning and then walk again with your husband in the evening.
4. Learn a 30 minute Pilates routine, lay the baby on a blanket on the floor and perform your routine while the baby watches.
Buy a few different sized arm and leg resistance bands to use for quick and easy strength sets around the house.
5. Wear your leg bands as you walk around the house, doing sets of 10 leg exercises every five steps.
6. When feeding sit with the band on your ankles doing inner outer thigh sets.
7. While the baby is sleeping do a 10 minute arm routine with a resistance band, then do 10-20 sets of stairs, or sets of squats and lunges.
Find time for fitness; once your baby starts walking you'll need it to keep up!
